Cap. 25Pode o homem ser justo diante de Deus?
1 Então Bildade, o suíta, tomou a palavra e disse:
2 “A Deus pertence o domínio
e o poder;
ele faz reinar a paz
nas alturas celestes.
3 Será que é possível contar
os seus exércitos?
E sobre quem não se levanta
a sua luz?
4 Como pode o mortal ser justo
diante de Deus?
E como pode ser puro
aquele que nasce de mulher?
5 Eis que até a lua não tem brilho,
e as estrelas não são puras
aos olhos dele.
6 Quanto menos o homem,
que é larva,
e o filho do homem, que é verme!”
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said, 2 Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places. 3 Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise? 4 How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? 5 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. 6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
